How to get to the Pensilva Open Gorseth
PUBLIC ATTENDANCE is FREE and welcomed and it is hoped that visitors will regard the ceremony as a mark of the unique difference between Cornwall and the shire counties of England, a difference as marked as that between England and the larger Celtic countries of Wales, Scotland and Ireland. The ceremony will be conducted by the Grand Bard, John Edgar Bolitho, Jowan an Cleth, assisted by the Gorseth Officers.
SITE: PENSILVA SCHOOL, adjacent to the Millennium House, Century Square, Pensilva.
ROUTE FROM ALL AREAS:
Head towards Liskeard, then take the A390 Liskeard turning (off A38).
After going through the town, pass the community college (left) and Luxstowe House (opposite right). Take the left turn at the double mini-roundabout, signposted PENSILVA (B3254).
In Pensilva you will find the Millennium House half a mile down the hill on the left. The way will be marked by black and yellow GORSETH KERNOW signs.

Facilities in Pensilva
CAR PARKING: for 160 cars in the field, Slade Park Road entrance: look for the village signpost near the post office, and turn into Slade Park Road. Coaches/buses may drop off at the site and park in the industrial estate.
PUBLIC REFRESHMENTS: at the Millennium House and in the village of Pensilva, or at the local victualler's: The Victoria Inn.
Visitors can view the ceremony from the outside of the circle of Bardic chairs, and are asked not to intrude into the Bardic circle. Please bring your own chair to the ceremony if required.
EXHIBITION: During Saturday in the Millennium House there will be a display of some of the winning entries in the Gorseth's annual competitions. Do make a point of touring this unique exhibition.
WET WEATHER ALTERNATIVE:The Gorseth will adjourn to the sports hall in the Millennium House.
CEREMONY BOOKLET: By tradition the ceremony is conducted mainly in Cornish but a booklet with proceedings in English and Cornish is available at a small cost.
MORNING ACTIVITIES: A small number of official stalls on the site will be selling Cornish books and information, as well as Celtic items.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Photographers are not allowed inside the circle during the ceremony but are encouraged to use cameras from outside the circle.
CHAIRS AT THE CIRCLE are placed for the use of bards during the ceremony and should not be removed by the public.
The Gorseth Council is very grateful to Pensilva and St lve Parish Council, the Millennium House manager, Pensilva Women's Institute, the churchwarden of St Ive and St John's, the local Old Cornwall Societies and local organisations for their welcome, and for the help given by the Pensilva School authorities.
