The 1934 Open Gorseth at Padderbury Top, near Menheniot

This hand-coloured photograph was taken just before the installation of Robert Morton Nance (Mordon) as Grand Bard. He is standing between the Sword Bearer, George Sloggett/Gwas Petrok, and the Marshal with pole, Walter Eva/Henavour, on whose right stand some new bards (who have no headdress on yet). Behind them a banner can be seen. The banner bearer (who is hidden) is Henry Trefusis from Trefusis, opposite Falmouth. The Lady of Cornwall is Miss Eileen Symons of Penzance.
