Long Gully, near Bendigo, in the famous Victoria Hill Cornish mining area. This was the site of the world's deepest mine in 1910, at 4,316 feet (Victoria Quartz), and the site of the mine (Great Central Victoria) where the Captain was Thomas Roberts Bolitho.

In front in this photograph is George Ellis (who was the model for the Cornish Miner statue in Bendigo), followed by Tom Luke, George Ellis jnr and John Bolitho.
